CORRECT WEB BROWSER SECURITY SETTINGS

Are you not able to log in?

The system occasionally has difficulty with last names that contain spaces or hyphens, for example, "Van Dyke" or "Jones-Smith". If you encounter trouble, try using the portion of your last name before the space or hypen, in the example above, this would be "Van" or "Jones".

Are your security settings on "default"?
The Sno-Isle Web site does not require any special security settings, but it does require the "default" security settings. If you've changed or configured your security settings away from the default you may experience trouble accessing portions of the Web site, in particular many 3rd party premium content.

You can easily reset your browser to the default setting in Internet Explorer 6.0 by going to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced and then clicking the "Restore Defaults" button on the bottom (the button is called "reset" in IE 7.0).

And in IE 6.0 there is one additional step. Go to: Tools > Internet options > Security. Click the "Internet" zone and then click the "Default Level" button.

Are you using Norton Security or other security software?

Some kinds of software installed on your computer can cause problems with the Sno-Isle Web site and prevent you from accessing 3rd party content. Refer to your Internet security software help documentation for "trusted site" to learn how to configure your software.

In particular Norton Internet Security may interfere with some content on the Sno-Isle Web site, but it's easy to fix this. The following instructions work for version 2006, 2005, and 2004:

  1. Open Norton Internet Security. There's usually an icon you can double-click in the task bar.
  2. Click Privacy Control, and select Configure.

  3. Click Advanced.

  4. Select Global Settings.

  5. In the section called "For Information about visited sites" select Permit.
Other Possible Conflicts

By resetting your browser security settings and/or security software settings you should resolve the problem. However, you can manually change these settings:

  1. Enable Web Browser Cookies
  2. Enable Web Browser JavaScript
  3. Don't Modify the Referring URL.

Programs that may need these setting are: virus detectors, firewalls, proxies, cookie crushers, web accelerators, web censors, and web anonymizers--any program that significantly modifies the way your web browser works.

If you continue to experience problems, please contact Sno-Isle Web site technical staff . Please let us know if you're using any security type of software.
