Foundation Mission & Philosophy
Book lovers will understand me, and they will know too that part of the pleasure of a library lies in its very existence
-- Jan Morris
Books alone do not make a library... it is the combination of reading materials with innovative and timely programs, meeting places and the opportunity for growth that make libraries the vibrant places they are. It is also true that tax dollars alone cannot support our libraries. It is the combination of tax dollars with the support of individuals, corporations and organizations that make Sno-Isle Libraries the essential epicenters that they are.
Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation's mission is to create support for vibrant library programs and services for the people of Snohomish and Island counties.
To fulfill this mission, the Foundation actively seeks donations from individual donors, planned giving and bequests, as well as corporations, the business community and foundations. Every year, the money raised provides programs and services that would not be available without private funding.
Thanks to our many generous donors and supporters, the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation has raised more than $1,775,000 since its incorporation in 2000.
The Foundation honors the trust its donors invest in the libraries every time they give. To that end, the Foundation ensures that all donations are used according to the donor's intentions. Maximum use is made of every single dollar contributed. Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation supports the libraries while keeping operating expenses as low as possible.
Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation is a public, tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization registered with the United States Internal Revenue Service and the Washington State Secretary of State.
