The Friends of the Mukilteo Library was founded in 1963 to support library services in our community. After the loss of our library in December of 1994, the members of the Friends joined with the Mukilteo Library Board and other concerned citizens in a two-year effort to restore library services to Mukilteo. Realizing a library would both benefit and enhance our city, in 1996 the voters of Mukilteo agreed to tax themselves to build a new library and annex to the Sno-Isle Libraries System. Construction of the new library began in September of 1997. On July 27, 1998, the Friends and the community celebrated the opening of our beautiful new Mukilteo Library!
The mission of the Friends of the Mukilteo Library is to encourage and enhance the partnership betwen the library and the community.

Monetary donations, used to support library services in our community, are welcomed by our organization. Donations of goods and/or services will be considered by the Board of the Friends of the Mukilteo Library and presented to the general membership for action. Donations of "gently- used" books, CDs, tapes or videos are gladly accepted for our ongoing booksale, located in the Library lobby. In some cases, donated books may be added to the Sno-Isle collection so that they may be enjoyed by any library patron in the Sno-Isle System. If you are interested in donating items, drop them off at the Circulation Desk at the Library. Be sure to inform the librarian of any special request that you may have for your donation. Tax receipts are also available. Thank you for your gifts. Whether they are added to the library's collection or included in our booksales, we are grateful for your contribution.
