Foundation Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation?
The Foundation was created in 2000 to raise private funds to enhance the Sno-Isle Libraries in Snohomish and Island Counties. The Foundation supports programs which complement, but do not supplant, tax-based funding for Sno-Isle Libraries. Donations enrich collections and create innovative programs that meet community needs. Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation is a State of Washington non-profit corporation, Federal I.D. #91-2010318.
Why should I make a donation to a tax-supported institution?
The Sno-Isle Libraries District receives tax-based funding only for library basics such as staff, collections, facilities, and operating expenses. The Foundation helps community libraries meet growing and diverse needs by partnering with the private sector to fund programs and resources not included in the basic operating budget.
How can I make a donation to the Foundation?
Your gift is welcome and appreciated. There are many ways to give. You can learn more about giving, and, if you wish, donate online. All donations are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
Does the Foundation accept donations of books and magazines?
The Foundation is not able to accept donations of books and magazines. However, some libraries do on behalf of the Friends of the Libraries. Please check with your local Friends group.
What other ways can I help?
You can become a Friend of the Library, or volunteer at a Sno-Isle library.
