Issues That Matter - FoundationSno-Isle Libraries' "Issues That Matter" series of programs began in the fall of 2010 in an effort to encourage important community conversations on high-profile, current event topics. Funded by the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation, the programs are free and open to the public. In May, Sno-Isle Libraries will be hosting two "Issues that Matter" forums. Thursday, May 9, 2013, Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center, 27130 102nd Ave NW, Stanwood, 6:30-8:00 pm. Thursday, May 16, 2013, Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave, Mukilteo, 6:30-8:00 pm. This is the first in the series focusing on public safety issues. The topic will be on gun violence. The panel discussion will cover a variety of viewpoints, and is intended to provide information to help the audience come to their own conclusions about the issues surrounding gun violence. The format will be a moderated informative discussion on the public safety and health issues of gun violence rather than a debate on gun control. |
