Thank you for your interest in adding your work to the Sno-Isle Libraries collection. Librarians in the Collection Development Department are charged with the responsibility for selecting the materials we purchase. In making purchase decisions, the librarians are guided by selection criteria that are included in the Collection Development Policy.
In making a decision about adding material to our collection, we consider the following:
Subject of the material
Professional review of the work (we rely on reviews for much of our selection)
Intended audience for the work
Format of the material (e.g., will this item hold up in the public library environment?)
Author's qualifications, such as education, experience in the field, and experience as a writer or artist
Publication information, including price
Anticipated demand in the communities we serve
We welcome notice of the publication of new materials, especially of local interest, and it is helpful if you can supply a review or the URL for a website on your work. You may submit a copy of your work at your community library or our Service Center. Due to the volume of material received, we may not be able to return sample copies of works that are not solicited by our staff.
If you wish to donate a copy of your work for inclusion in the library's collection, please review the information we have posted for Local Authors.
Thank you for your consideration of Sno-Isle Libraries.
