Who We Are

The mission of the Friends of the Monroe Library is to support and promote public awareness of library services, the facility, and the library staff in positive ways. Our goal is to inspire and motivate our community to recognize and use the library system to promote literacy, education, cultural and intellectural interaction, and for the creative exchange of ideas. Looking to the future, we strive to complement Sno-Isle Libraries in a partnership that directly enhances and enriches the local community and all of its members.

Information on Donating

Monetary gifts are an appropriate way to honor the memory of a friend or family member. Gift envelopes are available at the library.

The Friends accept donated books in good condition for the ongoing book sale. Unfortunately we cannot accept Reader's Digest Condensed Books, magazines, encyclopedia sets, or textbooks. Book donations may be made at the library during business hours.

Donations to the Friends of the Monroe Library are tax-deductible. A gift to the Friends is a gift to the community.

Dig into Reading
It had been startling and disappointing to me to find out that story books had been written by people,
that books were not natural wonders, coming up of themselves like grass.
- Eudora Welty
