Teen Program

In 2007, the Foundation created and sponsored the Teen Program in order to enhance and expand how the libraries were connecting with teens. By actively engaging the teens in the library, deeply-rooted connections are being made that will ensure their future engagement in literacy and libraries.

The impact of the Teen Program is staggering:

• Teen participation in library events has increased 600%.

• Teen book check-out rates have more than doubled.

• Teens submitted 5,600 book reviews in the summer of 2011.

• Teens created library-centered videos viewed more then 3,600 hours on YouTube.

And the great news is:

The Teen Program is now implemented across the Sno-Isle Libraries District. Activities, programs, events, study zones, and homework help are available in all 21 community libraries. The Foundation continues to provide support for the Teen Program with technical equipment, trained staff and incentives for summer reading and other special events.
