Ya-Ling Liou is not only a TEDxSnoIsleLibraries speaker, she's also a chiropractic physician, author, teacher, and reducer of suffering. We had a live conversation and Q&A with her to hear how she empowers people to transform their pain.
Pain is a universal, common and valid experience, yet it's also often poorly understood. This talk changes that, providing a clear view of how our experiences of pain originate, how they often re-appear over time, and how we can relate to our pains better, in turn influencing our future pain experiences.
Dr. Liou has worked to reduce suffering through 25 years of clinical practice. Her intention is to empower people to be their own pain experts and develop the confidence to recognize when seeking help is appropriate. She enjoys forest bathing with the company of her canine co-worker, Luna. She also supports organizations such as Food Lifeline, Old Dog Haven and the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
