Who we are

The Friends of the Snohomish Library support the Snohomish Library in its activities and programs. We raise funds to support the needs of the library. We promote the love of reading and learning. We promote the Library as an essential center of the community. We can be contacted at

What we do

The Friends of the Snohomish Library:

  • Raise funds through an on-going used book sale
  • Sponsor programs
  • Provide support for library programs and activities
  • Help support Explore Summer! reading programs for children and teens
  • Provide scholarships for local students
  • Promote and sponsor art in the library
  • Participate in local events at which we promote the library

When we meet

The Friends of the Snohomish Library meet for quarterly meetings in January, April, July, and October on the third Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Snohomish Library.

In memory of Bonnie Carrick

Bonnie Carrick, a founding member of the Friends of the Library, died in 2015. One of Bonnie's passions was our Scholarship Fund, which bears her name.

Every year Bonnie would lead her team in choosing the worthy recipient of the $1,500 scholarship. It is not an easy task, involving the reading of up to 40 Scholarship notebooks prepared by Snohomish School District Seniors.  Bonnie was always so careful to give each student a chance, and took her time choosing just the perfect candidate. We always looked forward to hearing about the winner as Bonnie described their attributes; she was always so enthusiastic about the student. Bonnie was a vital member of our group and she will will be missed. If you would like to honor her memory with a donation, it can be sent to:
