Sno-Isle Libraries has expanded the language filter capabilities on our website. Customers searching the catalog in Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Korean will now have enhanced browsing capabilities. Search results can now be filtered based on audience—adults, teens, or kids—and by fiction or nonfiction items.
In November 2021, Sno-Isle Libraries launched Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, Spanish, Russian, and Vietnamese catalog navigation options. With the recent addition of the Korean language to catalog navigation, all languages supported in our collection are now also supported in our online catalog.
These efforts reflect our commitment to reducing barriers and providing equitable access and a welcoming library experience. Sno-Isle Libraries is committed to the ideals of social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. The diverse backgrounds, experiences, and identities of our customers and staff enrich our communities and our library system.
Sno-Isle Libraries also offers Talk Time Online, a series of events for those looking to improve their English language skills in a safe and supportive environment. Additionally, nine local community libraries are now offering Citizenship Centers to serve as an access point for customers seeking information on gaining U.S. citizenship.
