Edmonds Library to Open 2023

In partnership with the City of Edmonds, Sno-Isle Libraries is working to use the unfortunate severe water damage event as an opportunity to create an inspiring space. Sno-Isle Libraries anticipates welcoming our community back into their library in 2023.

“Our community is at the forefront of everything we do. Sno-Isle Libraries is investing in the Edmonds Library to create an inspiring, welcoming space for our customers to enjoy now and for years to come,” said Diane Lai, Sno-Isle Libraries community libraries director.

The Edmonds Library reopen project hit a key milestone with hiring a professional public library architect, Johnston Architects, to determine the scope and design. The project is being intentionally implemented and will start with furniture due to supply chain delays to ensure the soonest open date.

After the entire 17,000 square feet library was filled with roughly 60,000 gallons of water, the City of Edmonds and Sno-Isle Libraries have been actively working to upgrade the space.

“We are grateful for our partnership with Sno-Isle Libraries, and we appreciate the patience of our community as we navigate these emergency repairs. We look forward to celebrating the upgraded facility at the re-opening with the community this summer!” said Susan McLaughlin, City of Edmonds director of planning and development.

Customers are invited to the Edmonds Library pop-up in the rooftop Plaza Room, 650 Main St, Edmonds. Library pop-up services are expanded to allow customers to pick-up holds, browse our collection, check out laptops, access Wi-Fi, and use printing and copier services. Sno-Isle Libraries staff are available to connect customers to everything the library offers.
