This is a general timeline. Throughout the program, Sno-Isle Libraries staff will provide more detailed information to the primary school contact at each location.
Teams begin competing at their own elementary schools, top school teams progress to regional events, usually at a nearby school. The top regional teams move on to the final in March. The reading challenge regional and final take place at larger venues that can accommodate friends and family members of team participants. A select number of schools will also receive an author visit. All events are organized and conducted by Sno-Isle
2019-2020 Reading Challenge books are announced.
Local community library staff invite schools to participate in the program.
Schools are notified of application status.
Schools recruit students to form team(s).
Books are delivered to schools by local community library staff.
Teams start reading books and practicing.
Teams continue reading books, practicing and developing teamwork.
Teams review rules and watch video to prep for In-School Challenge. Practice with each other to prep for In-School Challenge.
February - March
In-school challenges occur at elementary schools during school hours. One team from each school advances to a regional Semi-Final.
Regional Semi-final events occur in early-mid March during evening hours. One team from each Semi-Final advances to the Final.
Final event occurs in the evening in late March.
