Winter Events

There's plenty to do this winter at events in Snohomish and Island counties, both free and for a fee.

December

December 1: Western Games Horse Show
Held at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds, competitions include Poles, Stilly Figure 8, Polo, 1 Jump Scurry, and International Flag.
December 2: Assistance League of Everett: Holiday Home Tour & Taste of the Town
Tour six beautifully decorated and historic North Everett homes. Enjoy culinary delights from local chefs, shop the holiday gift boutique, and take a chance on fantastic raffle baskets, including Alaska Airlines tickets. Proceeds from the annual Holiday Home Tour benefit Assistance League of Everett philanthropic programs, including Operation School Bell, providing new school clothes for Snohomish County kids. Noon-6 p.m.
December 7: Mukilteo yacht Club Annual Holiday Lighted Boat Parade
As part of the Port of Everett's "Holiday on the Bay" festivities, local yacht clubs will join Mukilteo Yacht Club for the annual MYC lighted boat parade. The public can watch from shoreside locations along Port Gardner, including Boxcar Park. Decorated lighted boats will parade in Port Gardner from the Port of Everett North Marina (12th Street) to Anthony's Restaurant in Everett Marina Village and back. The parade is held weather permitting and may be canceled in the event of unsafe boating conditions. 5:30-7:30 p.m.
December 7: Mountlake Terrace Community Treasure Chest
Come have fun shopping at the Mountlake Terrace Community Senior Center's monthly Community Treasure Chest vendor market. Open to all ages. Our friendly market will feature various arts, crafts, handmade jewelry, collector items, books and authors, beauty products, vintage items and much, much more.
December 7: Oak Harbor Festival of Trees Community Day
Sip on a hot beverage, enjoy a cookie (or 2), and walk through the beautifully decorated trees.
December 7: Oak Harbor Hidden Snowflake Hunt
Pick up a snowflake passport and go find the hidden silver snowflakes at businesses in downtown Oak Harbor!
December 14, 21, 28: Cama Beach Winterfest
Enjoy family-friendly activities like toy boat building, face painting and evening concerts at Cama Beach State Park. A valid Discover Pass is required for parking.
December 7, 14, 21: Edmonds Holiday Market
More than 50 local vendors and makers are registered for the event, bringing cured meats, preserved foods and cheeses, baked goods and sweets, fruit, produce, cranberries, wine, jewelry, pottery, decor and gifts.
December 14, 28: Pilchuck Audubon Society Christmas Bird Count
Help count wild bird species in the annual survey. The results are tallied and submitted to the National Audubon Society. This long-term population data is used in multiple research projects like the State of the Birds and the Audubon's Birds and Climate Change Report. Free to participate.

December 28 - Everett/Marysville
December 19: Art Walk Edmonds
Art Walk Edmonds takes place on the third Thursday of each month. It's a grassroots community event held throughout the year, rain or shine. From 5-8 p.m., galleries, merchants, neighbors and friends join in celebrating the arts and cultivating local vitality in the community.
December 21: Snohomish Winter Solstice Walk
Enjoy a candlelit walk on the river trail in downtown Snohomish to celebrate the season. The luminaries will be lit at sunset (about 4 p.m.) and will glow until 8 p.m.
December 29: Will Run For Beer 5K Series
Love BEER? Love running or walking? Run/walk first, then join the group for a beverage of your choice. You do not need to drink in order to participate. OK to bring outside food into the brewery. Dogs and kids are OK to join!

January

January 1: Bling in the New Year
Marathon and half marathon on the Centennial Trail (ending in Snohomish).
January 1: Polar Bear Dive
Start the new year off with a splash in Freeland! Join a fun-loving crowd for a bone chilling dive into 2020. WHY?! It's fun. Seriously!
January 1 & 20: Washington State Parks Free Day
Free day use admission to all Washington State parks.
January 4: Langley Sea Float Scramble
Hunt for one-of-a-kind glass-blown sea floats hidden in plain sight along Seawall Park in Langley! Everyone, young and old, can join in the scramble for free, and if they are lucky, go home with their own glass treasure.
January 4: Song Circle Saturdays
Free, fun for everyone! Bring your guitar, ukulele, voice, cajon, bongos, pennywhistle, violin, clarinet, french horn, banjo, whatever you prefer to use when you make music! Held each Saturday at Click Music. For all ages.
January 16: Art Walk Edmonds

A three-day celebration of the stylish, wickedly funny, and macabre world of Alfred Hitchcock. Includes screenings, guest speakers and special events.
January 25-26: Northwest Model Hobby Expo
R/C airplanes, helicopters, boats, cars, drones, trains! Scale-model displays of airplanes, boats, cars and more at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds.
