GuideStar: Nonprofit Research

GuideStar, Candid’s premier destination for nonprofits and nonprofit research, is now accessible along with Foundation Directory and Grants to Individuals at both Freeland and Marysville libraries. This resource enhances library services, allowing you to easily search 1.8 million IRS-recognized tax-exempt organizations and thousands of faith-based nonprofits. With GuideStar, you can gather details on financials, people/leadership, mission, and more, as well as stay up to date on the latest facts and insights on nonprofits.

Foundation Directory provides profiles of more than 240,000 donors and 27 million grants to find prospective funders that match your nonprofit’s goals. Grants to Individuals provides details on funders that award scholarships, fellowships, grants, and a wide range of financial support to individuals. Candid’s three databases are accessible on all public computers, as well as through your own device connected to the public wireless network, at Freeland and Marysville libraries.

Sno-Isle Libraries is a Candid community partner. Services include instruction on using the database and online workshops, introductory classes and advanced classes such as proposal writing and budgets.
