Watch Now! Hazardous Weather of the Pacific Northwest

Ted Buehner's presentation reviews the variety of significant hazardous weather affecting this region. People, particularly those who move here, feel all it does is rain. Yet, that is not the case. It includes heat waves, wildfires, winter storms, windstorms, heavy rain, flooding, landslides, coastal flooding, and even tsunamis. Recorded on Nov. 15, 2023.

Ted Buehner retired from the National Weather Service (NWS) after a more than 40-year career from 1977 to 2018. His last position for 23 years was as the NWS Seattle Warning Coordination Meteorologist, a key customer liaison position, providing decision support services toward enhancing the “end-to-end” forecast and warning system.
