Strengthening families and communities with Prime Time

Sno-Isle Libraries is delighted to participate in Prime Time, a program designed to build a lifelong love of learning, literacy, and leadership. Offered in partnership with Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation and Humanities WA, Prime Time is a free, six-week, elementary-age reading program designed to engage, educate, and support children and their families.

Prime Time enhances family engagement and develops critical thinking skills. Participants enjoy weekly reading and discussion groups guided by skilled facilitators. Discussion topics dig into major themes of children’s literature including fairness, bravery, equality, and kindness.

Families receive a shared meal or a grocery gift card, books to borrow, information about library resources, childcare for younger siblings, and books to keep for their home library.

With more than 2,000 participants in the 2022−23 school year, Prime Time’s impact in our community continues to grow. Families participate throughout the year through partnerships with our local school districts. Participating libraries include Oak Harbor, Edmonds, Granite Falls, Lake Stevens, Mariner, Mukilteo, Marysville, Mountlake Terrace, and Coupeville. Programs are offered in English, Spanish, and bilingually.
