Who We Are

The mission of the Friends of the Darrington Library includes promoting community awareness of library services, resources and needs; nurturing partnerships between the Library and the people it serves; working with staff in maintaining a user-friendly facility and supporting the creativity of staff; enriching the multi-faceted programs and services of the Library System that reflect the diversity of our community; and promoting the freedom to explore intellectual, educational, and recreational interests by the patrons of our library.

What We Do:

• Financial support to help build and furnish the current library building
• Financial support for children, teen and adult programs
• Craft supplies for children's programs
• Book prizes for Summer Reading finishers
• Support for the Darrington Library Book Discussion Group
• Copy machine for public and staff use, including maintenance and supplies
• Digital camera and CD player

In addition to our ongoing used book sale in the library lobby, we hold two large used book sales in the spring and fall.

When We Meet

Quarterly meetings are on the first Wednesday of February, May, August and November at 5:30 pm in the library. Call the library to confirm.

How To Join

Membership forms are available at the library. Dues are $5 per year or a contribution of your choice.

Information on Donating

We raise money through book sales, copy machine usage by the public, and donations.

Books and media you wish to donate for the book sales may be brought to the library. Donations are tax deductible. Monetary donations may be made directly to the Friends or may be made in memory of or to honor someone special. At your request, we will acknowledge your thoughtfulness to those you choose.
