Help for Using Recently Added Items Lists

For your convenience, we've created lists to help you see the newest titles obtained by Sno-Isle Libraries. One list contains all of the items "Just Ordered" by our Collection Development Librarians. The second list of "Recently Added Items" displays the new items that we have just received in our central processing building.

Please keep in mind, this list system operates independently of our catalog and displays only items that have been ordered or received within the last 30 days. If you'd like to search for specific titles, using our full catalog search may be a better option. All of the "Just Ordered" and "Recently Added Items" are in our full catalog as well.

Because our current catalog system does not give us the same robust browsing capability of these newly ordered or acquired titles, we have created our own system. The two systems are not fully integrated for searching, so we have stitched them together. It means it can be awkward returning to the spot you left off while browsing the list, after you have requested an item. Here is the best method you can follow to request and return to your browsing spot:

  1. Click on the title you want
  2. Click on "Place Request" button
  3. Log in if you haven't done so yet
  4. Submit your request
  5. Click "Continue" if you are asked
  6. Click "Return to Search Results"
  7. Now the tricky part – you can click your back browser to get back to the list at the spot you left, but you will need to do it 5-6 times. If an error message appears such as "Document Expired" or "Web Page Expired", click the back arrow again until you get to your list.
  8. You will then return to the spot you were at when you placed your last request.
There is not such a cradle of democracy upon the earth as the Free Public Library,
this republic of letters, where neither rank, office, nor wealth receives the slightest consideration.
