Whidbey Reads is an annual program that brings Whidbey Island residents together to read and talk about a book. A series of public events focuses on themes related to the story. The shared experience serves as a springboard to explore commonalities and differences. The 2016 selection is "The Wind is Not a River" by Brian Payton. The author will speak April 13 and 14 on Whidbey Island; watch for details.
Whidbey Reads 2016 is a collaborative effort between Sno-Isle Libraries, Whidbey Island Friends of the Library groups and volunteers from each community on Whidbey Island. Other partners include Skagit Valley College, Best Western Harbor Plaza, Wind & Tide Books, and Moonraker Books.
Please consider a donation to the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation earmarked "Whidbey Reads" to help us bring more great authors to Whidbey Island in the future.
