Friends of the Edmonds Library's goals are to support and enhance the Edmonds Library; promote literacy, reading, and use of information resources; and advance education in library and information science. The Edmonds Friends group was organized and incorporated in March 1979 by 15 founding members. Today we have over 180 members.

We are a not-for-profit tax exempt volunteer organization and we raise money through our Memorial and Gift Fund, an on-going book sale in the Library and our huge annual book sale usually held the fourth Saturday in October. We have raised over $456,000 for our programs.
In addition we also sponsor a scholarship for a student attending the University of Washington Information School.
Open general meetings are normally held on the fourth Thursday of each month at 1:00 p.m. in the Plaza Room above the Library.
Each month we start with a coffee get-together. Before the business meeting there is a program featuring speakers discussing topics of interest. Visitors are always welcome. There are no meetings in July, August and December. The June meeting is our annual luncheon to honor our hard-working membership, and we also introduce our scholarship winner at that time.
Membership brochures are available in the Library. Annual membership dues are:
