Zaki Hamid discusses the stereotypes of Arabs perpetuated in film and TV, and highlights the progress being made in the past few years. He will also share some of his own experiences as an actor in New York City after 9/11.

Zaki Barak Hamid is currently the director of community engagement at KUOW Public Radio, and also teaches mass media and film courses at Everett Community College, where he specializes in introducing multi-ethnic films and points of view to course curriculum. He has served on the Board of Trustees for the Arab Center of Washington.
