Chromebook to Go

Welcome! We hope that this Chromebook will be a useful resource for you. To help you get started, here are some important things to know:

  • The Chromebook can be checked out for 3 weeks.
  • If there is no wait list it may be renewed up to 5 times.
  • To make sure the Chromebook is available to the next customer, it will be automatically disabled if it is kept past its due date.
  • If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact your library or schedule a Book a Librarian appointment.
  • Internet filtering enabled for all users that, to the extent technically possible, prevents access to visual depictions that are obscene, child pornography, and visual depictions that are harmful to minors.
  • To ensure that the filter works correctly, Incognito mode is disabled. For more information, please see Sno-Isle Libraries' Internet Use Policy.

Chromebook Tips & Tricks

Accessing Files

  1. Click the Circle menu in the lower left corner
  2. Click the Files icon

Capturing a screenshot

  1. Click the Clock/Wi-FI utility in the lower right corner.
  2. Click screen capture.
  3. Click and drag to select an area to capture.
  4. Click the Capture button.
  5. Go to Files to access the capture for saving.

Printing

  1. Access the remote printing portal on the Sno-Isle Libraries website.
  2. Log in using your library card number and PIN/password.
  3. Follow the steps on the Web Print page to upload your print job.

Using the camera

  1. Click the Circle menu in the lower left corner.
  2. Click the Camera icon.
  3. Select the desired camera mode and settings
  4. Use the circular button on the right side of the camera window to capture photos, videos, or scans.

  • In keeping with Sno-Isle Libraries' commitments to privacy and intellectual freedom, we do not monitor or track customer internet use on library devices. However, we cannot prevent customers' online activity from being tracked by third parties whose internet services they interact with while online. Customers are strongly advised to exercise appropriate caution when accessing the internet on library resources, both in the library and at home.

  • Yes. Laptops to Go have internet filtering enabled for all users that, to the extent technically possible, prevents access to visual depictions that are obscene, child pornography, and visual depictions that are harmful to minors.   • To access the library's Wi-Fi while at the library, connect to the sno-isle public Wi-Fi network from your device. There is no password required and a library card is not required for access. Wi-Fi access at all libraries extends throughout the library and to the library parking lot.

    Wi-Fi is available 24/7 at most locations. Wi-Fi is available from 5 a.m. - 11 p.m. daily at Arlington Library, Brier Library, Granite Falls Library, Mariner Library, Monroe Library, Mountlake Terrace Library, and Sultan Library.

    Wi-Fi is available 5 a.m. - 10 p.m. daily at Lynnwood Library.

  • Copying and scanning are available at all locations. Your weekly $7 printing credit can also be used to pay for copies.

  • Faxing is currently available at the Darrington Library, Freeland Library, and Marysville Library.

    If paying by credit or debit card there is a recommended maximum of 20 pages per fax. If paying by cash (prepaid fax card), there is a maximum of 18 pages per fax to the US, Canada, & Caribbean and 3 pages to other international destinations.

  • Yes. To print without a library card, visit your community library and request a computer guest pass. Guest passes cannot be used to print remotely.

  • Lynnwood Library, Marysville Library, Oak Harbor Library, and Snohomish Library have microform (microfilm and microfiche) readers available for use. Please contact the library directly for more information.

  • To print from a laptop to go, log in to our Remote Printing Portal with your library card to upload files for printing.
