The Countdown Begins!

Doors to your Darrington Library open Sept. 30

Our library staff look forward to welcoming you back into the newly remodeled Darrington Library on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 10 a.m.

Join us in celebrating the next chapter with a ribbon cutting, tours of the library, storytimes, and fun activities. The ribbon cutting will kickstart the grand opening week of entertaining events and programs.

The Darrington Library is the cornerstone of our vibrant community. Library customers will enjoy an interactive children’s area, outdoor patio to read and relax, a new study space, and improved accessibility.

Thank you to the Town of Darrington, Darrington Rural Partial County Library District, and our community for providing feedback to inspire your remodeled library space. $1.5 million dollars was invested into the Darrington community with this remodel project.

The only thing our library is missing is you!

Tips for your tour:

  • Spend time in the new outdoor patio to enjoy an amazing view of Whitehorse Mountain. The design brings in the natural landscape from Whitehorse Mountain and surrounding forest
  • Look up – not only is the ceiling visually appealing but it helps control sound.
  • Look down – ask us about the carpet! The building was designed with sustainability in mind.
  • Bask in the natural light of the library, which supports human health and well-being, and adds to energy efficiency.
  • Be prepared to cozy up with a good book. Our staff can provide recommendations.
  • Book it to the library on Sept. 30!
