  • General Questions

    Beanstack is a web-based reading challenge software. You can use Beanstack in a browser or with the Beanstack Tracker app. You can log the minutes you read, keep track of your favorite books and authors, earn fun badges, and more.

    If you have a Beanstack account with another library system, you will need to create a new one for Sno-Isle Libraries. 

    To track reading with Beanstack:

    1. Access the Beanstack site or app.
    2. Select the Log Reading and Activities button in the upper left corner of the site or on the blue plus sign in the app.
    3. Follow the prompts on the screen to log your progress.

    You can use Foundation Directory Online – Professional and GuideStar to find more information about grants. These databases are currently only available at Freeland Library and Marysville Library due to licensing restrictions.

  • Kanopy

    Kanopy, opens a new window is an on-demand streaming video platform that lets library members borrow films, TV shows, educational videos and documentaries using a monthly ticket allowance. 

    As you browse for titles on Kanopy, you'll see the number of tickets required to watch each title and how long you will have to watch it. For episodic titles, like TV series and The Great Courses, you'll also see what content the tickets unlock (e.g., "Season 1" or "all"). 

    Each month, you receive 15 free, use-it-or-lose-it tickets per Sno-Isle library card. Tickets reset on the first day of the month. Unused tickets do not roll over month to month. 

    Yes, you'll need an internet connection to watch films on Kanopy. Films cannot be downloaded to your device.

    Kanopy's video player automatically adjusts the video quality based on the strength of your internet connection. This will minimize interruptions in playback.

    With Kanopy's parental controls enabled, viewers can only watch titles in Kanopy Kids, opens a new window. To exit Kanopy Kids or watch videos outside of Kanopy Kids, viewers will need to enter a four-digit PIN.

    Kanopy Kids is a collection of streaming video programming geared towards young viewers and curated to support early literacy, STEM education, and world language learning.   

    Kanopy Kids offers unlimited plays—no tickets required—so kids are free to explore enriching, educational and entertaining content at any time.

  • hoopla

    hoopla Digital, opens a new window is a streaming video and digital entertainment service that offers free access to popular TV shows and movies. 

    You must create an account on hoopla to borrow titles. To create an account, you will need a valid email address, an active library card number and PIN. 

    Once you are signed in, you can borrow titles though the hoopla digital mobile app or the website. You can use hoopla with any number of supported devices. However, you can only use your account on one device at a time. 

    hoopla can be viewed using a web browser, mobile device or smart TV. However, you can only use your account on one device at a time.

    Enjoy up to 15 borrows per month on hoopla with your library card. The monthly borrow limit resets on the first day of the month. Previously borrowed titles will remain checked out until their lending period expires, but you will be given your new month's borrows at the start of each month.

    Most movies and TV episodes are available for 72 hours (3 days) from the time you borrow the title. Some publishers limit the borrow time to 48 hours (2 days)  

    Renewing a title allows a user to extend their current borrow. However, renewals will count as one of your 15 borrows for the month. The option to renew appears 24 hours (1 day) before a title would return automatically. 

    hoopla Kids Mode is a multi-format, digital media experience designed especially for kids up to age 12.

    You can setup Kids Mode to login with or without a PIN. Each device you use will need to be set up individually to require a PIN, however, it does not need to be unique for each device.

  • LinkedIn Learning

    If you lose your card and/or have to change your number, your previous course history will not transfer over. If you’ve forgotten your library card number and PIN, please contact us or call your local library.

    You can add your LinkedIn Learning Library certificates to your personal LinkedIn profile by downloading the unique certificate ID for each course and then manually adding it to your profile. Here’s how:

    • Log into LinkedIn Learning Library through the library’s login.
    • In the top right corner, click "My Learning" and then select the "Learning History" tab.
    • Click the three dots next to the course you want to add to your personal profile.
    • Choose "Download certificate" from the pop-up menu.
    • Your certificate will be downloaded to your computer.
    • Open the certificate and copy the Certificate ID from the bottom of the certificate.
    • Now log into your own personal LinkedIn profile.
    • At the top of your profile, click on the button that says "Add section."
    • Under "Background," click on "Licenses & Certifications."
    • Fill out the form as you want the course/certificate to appear on your profile. For the Credential ID, you can cut and paste the certificate number from your certificate. For the Credential URL, you can either leave it blank or you can include the link to the course itself.
    • Click "Save" and check your profile to make sure the course appears as you wish.

    Since no personally identifiable information is shared, LinkedIn Learning doesn’t know the names of library patrons using the resource. However, each certificate does display a unique authentication number which you can add to your personal LinkedIn profile or online résumé.

    No personally identifiable information is shared with LinkedIn Learning by Sno-Isle Libraries.

    No, a LinkedIn social media profile is not required. You will only need your Sno-Isle Libraries card number and PIN.
