  • Kanopy

Kanopy, opens a new window is an on-demand streaming video platform that lets library members borrow films, TV shows, educational videos and documentaries using a monthly ticket allowance.

As you browse for titles on Kanopy, you'll see the number of tickets required to watch each title and how long you will have to watch it. For episodic titles, like TV series and The Great Courses, you'll also see what content the tickets unlock (e.g., "Season 1" or "all").

Each month, you receive 15 free, use-it-or-lose-it tickets per Sno-Isle library card. Tickets reset on the first day of the month. Unused tickets do not roll over month to month.

Yes, you'll need an internet connection to watch films on Kanopy. Films cannot be downloaded to your device.

Kanopy's video player automatically adjusts the video quality based on the strength of your internet connection. This will minimize interruptions in playback.

With Kanopy's parental controls enabled, viewers can only watch titles in Kanopy Kids, opens a new window. To exit Kanopy Kids or watch videos outside of Kanopy Kids, viewers will need to enter a four-digit PIN.

For more tips on setting up parental controls, visit Kanopy Help

Kanopy Kids offers unlimited plays—no tickets required—so kids are free to explore enriching, educational and entertaining content at any time.

  • LinkedIn Learning

If you lose your card and/or have to change your number, your previous course history will not transfer over. If you’ve forgotten your library card number and PIN, please contact us or call your local library.

You can add your LinkedIn Learning Library certificates to your personal LinkedIn profile by downloading the unique certificate ID for each course and then manually adding it to your profile. Here’s how:

    • Log into LinkedIn Learning Library through the library’s login.
    • In the top right corner, click "My Learning" and then select the "Learning History" tab.
    • Click the three dots next to the course you want to add to your personal profile.
    • Choose "Download certificate" from the pop-up menu.
    • Your certificate will be downloaded to your computer.
    • Open the certificate and copy the Certificate ID from the bottom of the certificate.
    • Now log into your own personal LinkedIn profile.
    • At the top of your profile, click on the button that says "Add section."
    • Under "Background," click on "Licenses & Certifications."
    • Fill out the form as you want the course/certificate to appear on your profile. For the Credential ID, you can cut and paste the certificate number from your certificate. For the Credential URL, you can either leave it blank or you can include the link to the course itself.
    • Click "Save" and check your profile to make sure the course appears as you wish.

Since no personally identifiable information is shared, LinkedIn Learning doesn’t know the names of library patrons using the resource. However, each certificate does display a unique authentication number which you can add to your personal LinkedIn profile or online résumé.

No personally identifiable information is shared with LinkedIn Learning by Sno-Isle Libraries.

No, a LinkedIn social media profile is not required. You will only need your Sno-Isle Libraries card number and PIN.
