Using Your Account FAQs

  • Borrowing History

You can track the titles of physical items you have borrowed by enabling the Borrowing History feature in your account. Items will start to be tracked once you enable this feature. You can turn on your Borrowing History at any time. Items cannot be deleted from your borrowing history once the feature is enabled. Your Borrowing History is visible only to you.

If you have under 100 items on your Borrowing History, you can sort the items using the sort options at the top of the screen. The sort feature is not available if you have more than 100 items in your Borrowing History.

To enable or disable Borrowing History:

    1. Log in to your account.
    2. On the menu, click My Settings.
    3. On the My Settings page, under the Account Preferences heading, find your Borrowing History setting.
    4. Click Change.
    5. On the Borrowing History page, click the current setting to change it.
    6. Click Save.

If you choose to disable your Borrowing History, all titles that have not been added to your Completed shelf or to a list will be permanently deleted. The Borrowing History feature will not display items no longer owned by Sno-Isle Libraries. If a record for an item is deleted from the catalog, the item is removed from your Borrowing History list.

To track your borrowing history for digital items, please see the instructions for using history feature in OverDrive and the reading history feature in Libby.

  • Express Lockers

Express lockers are self-service hold pickup locations open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All library materials, except oversized items and book discussion kits, may be checked out through an express locker.

To retrieve holds from an express locker, scan your library card’s barcode at the screen or type in your barcode number and password. Once you are logged in, the door to the locker containing your holds will appear on screen. Select which locker to open and the locker door will spring open. Your items will automatically check out when the locker door opens.

Holds are held in lockers for three days. If you are unable to pick up your hold, you may place a new hold on the item or contact us to reactivate your hold.

When placing an item on hold, choose the Lakewood Lockers or Monroe or Camano Island express locker as the pickup location.

To send single items to an express locker:

    • In your account menu, select On Holdunder My Borrowing.
    • Change the Pick Up At location listed on the item to an express locker location.

To send all future holds to an express locker:

    • In your account menu, select My Settings, then Holds and Pick-up Locations under Account Preferences.
    • Adjust your preferred pickup location to an express locker location.

For the lockers available at the Camano Island and Monroe libraries, please connect with a staff member during open hours.

Phone assistance is available for the Lakewood Lockers by calling Lakewood/Smokey Point Library during open hours.

You sure can! There is a return box near all of our Express Lockers.

    Find an Express Locker.

  • Fines & Fees

Sno-Isle Libraries does not charge late fees or damage fees.

Replacement fees are charged for lost items or missing pieces. The lost item fee is only applied once an item has been overdue for two or more weeks. Missing part fees are charged for items that are returned missing a disc or other piece.

If a lost item or missing piece is returned, the fee is removed from your account and you can again check out library materials.

If a lost item or missing piece cannot be found, you may pay the fee online or by visiting your library.

You can request a refund if you find a lost item within six months of paying the replacement fee. Take the item to the customer service desk at your library to request a refund.

Refunds for credit card payments will automatically be refunded within 5-7 business days. Refunds for cash or check payments will be processed by the library's accounting department. The check can take up to four weeks to arrive.
